A recent patent from Samsung shows them toying with the idea of using the S-Pen as a kickstand. To achieve this the pen would actually pivot in the middle, forming a right angle. Then with it inserted halfway into the phone it would prop it up.
As long as it doesn’t make the S-Pen too flimsy this looks to be like a really cool idea. Sometimes it’s really nice to be able to sit down these big phablets and watch videos on them. Having a stand built in which doesn’t take up anymore space would be great. Plus it would make the S-Pen dual purpose. As some people like myself might rarely ever use the pen but would get more use out of a stand.
The patent was filed in the last quarter of 2015, meaning it might be just in time for the Note 6.
